All Purificare® Air Cleaning Filters are electrostatically* charged. As air passes through the filter, airborne particles are attracted to and captured by the filter’s pleated fabric. Our electrostatic filters capture both large and small particles**— down to 0.3 microns in size.

This is different from fiberglass, washable, and non-electrostatic pleated filters, which have no charge. Without electrostatic properties, these other filters can’t capture the smaller particles as effectively.
